James or others,
I have a Tri Vista 21 DAC feeding into a BP25 Pre and have a small concern. The volume knob on the Pre Amp is usually at the 9 O'clock position for normal listening levels. I feel this is to low and the signal from the DAC is to hot. From reading the specifications, the Tri Vista has a digital output at 2.17 volts and 50 ohms. Looking at the specifications for the BP25 the input desired is 500mv, or 1/2 volt.
Is the output from the Tri Vista too hot? I would like to get a wider movement range on the volume control if possible from the BP25. Are there any benefits to my thoughts, such as a lower noise floor. What is the recommended input voltage from a DAC to the BP25.
Thanks,
Mark
