Hey all,
I ran into a brickwall, and need some help.
I'm replacing a very old PC that was using a very old version of SqueezeBox and a very old version of EAC on it to convert my 'rips' into .flac.
However, the new version of EAC has a few bells and whistles I'm not familiar with. I'm a bit of a dork with some of this tech, so I'm blindly following the step-by-step instructions I found > HERE < (this is page 4).

It's telling me to cut and paste this into the EAC settings:
-V -8 -T "artist=%a" -T "title=%t" -T "album=%g" -T "date=%y" -T "tracknumber=%n" -T "genre=%m" %s

However, when I click [ok], I get the message: "Invalid replacement tag found", and it's dropping the cursor between the equal sign and the percentage sign just after the word [artist]. Seems like a clue, but when you're clueless......it's not much help.

Thank you very much for any assistance,
Bob

For clarification, I'm in the section of EAC [compression options] > [External Compression] > [additional command line options].

I had a similar problem .. didn't spend the time to figure out what was wrong with that inline markup.  I think I left it at the default.  Not sure if it matters to you exactly.  Here are my settings..

-6 -V -T "ARTIST=%artist%" -T "TITLE=%title%" -T "ALBUM=%albumtitle%" -T "DATE=%year%" -T "TRACKNUMBER=%tracknr%" -T "GENRE=%genre%" -T "COMMENT=%comment%" -T "BAND=%albuminterpret%" -T "COMPOSER=%composer%" %haslyrics%--tag-from-file=LYRICS="%lyricsfile%"%haslyrics% -T "DISCNUMBER=%cdnumber%" -T "TOTALDISCS=%totalcds%" -T "TOTALTRACKS=%numtracks%" %hascover%--picture="%coverfile%"%hascover% %source% -o %dest%

This might depend on the version your using .. I'm at beta 3

Nice. Thank you mcoaggie.
I'll check that out and see what happens.  :thumb:

Hey Bob, I don't know a lot about EAC, but I think DBpoweramp is just as good. It is a lot easier to use. Since I got it I never use EAC anymore. I use to get unexplained noise (pops, tics) on random rips with EAC. Have not had a single noise problem since changing  over to DBpoweramp. You may want to just give it a try since it is free.

Thanks Sturg.
My eyes are beginning to glaze over reading the EAC "walk-though".
Wasn't this complicated a few years ago....

I may indeed try the DB, you suggested. Thanks!
