I've bought a couple times from these folks, a small outfit around Washington DC, that specializes in Jazz and Classical closeouts and indie labels.

They have an eclectic collection of offerings and outstanding prices from $2.98 to $39.98 (boxed sets).  Ask to be on their mailing list; their catalog has several hundred select titles every few months. One of the more helpful things is that they review each title or, alternatively, use a review from Downbeat, Gramaphone, American Record Guide or other as a tool to help select and understand the recording.

You can't sample them online, as you can with Tower and others nowadays, but at these prices and helpful descriptors, you rarely get bad value.

They have a flat shipping rate of only $4.95 to the lower 48 and their sales reps are most helpful and willing.

Highly recommended, and I am not affiliated in any way to them...except as a darn happy repeat customer.

Bump - I musta' posted this at an off time a few weeks ago as only 22 people viewed it.

They are a very good resource..I have bought twice from them and have nothing else to do with them except wanting to sing their praises.

Anyhow, I'll be happy with 50 views..and I'll know I did my part to keep a good value business going strong.

Cman, I have never bought from them but posted about their catalogue many moons ago.  May have been at HD even.  I don't recognize any of the titles and therefore never bought...not wanting to get a crappy performance/recording.  I'll have to give a little more to the reviews although I've read good reviews and did not appreciate the music

Max,

I think both times I bought from them the most expensive title was $6.98.....most of them were $4.98 (even a few $2.98's).

If your tastes run to classical and jazz, at these prices, you can deal with a less-then-stellar buy once in awhile.

I chafe when I have to pay more than $10 for any CD...I doubt I've bought more than 12-15 over the years for more than this. AT $4.98 to $6.98 for most of the titles, you are erring on the safe side of caution, ya' know :?:

Their customer service, by phone, has been super, too...another plus I haven't found at Music Direct., for instance.  Not to totally slag those guys - I've got some decent deals over the years there, too...but customer service/attentiveness is often lax.
