Martin Logan and Bryston Experiences
« on: 6 Nov 2011, 06:29 pm »
Hi all,
I have a great opportunity to aquire a pair of Spires from Martin Logan at a steal from a dealer close to me and  am also going to purchase a 4bsst2 shortly to mate with it or that is the plan.
I already have BP26, BCD1, Bryston Cables and soon hopefully the new BHA1 when Bryston gets past the metal issues that they are experiencing.
What are your takes on Bryston/Martin Logan?

Thanks,

Mark

i'm not sure the 4bsst2 will work with the spires due to the low impedance.i was considering vista's or theos but was told i should consider the 7bsst2.i already had the 4bsst2 so after looking at many speakers i wound up getting salk ht-2 tl's.note the 4bsst2 did work very well with my older aerius m-l's

Buy them!!
By the way, think its the first time I heard anyone say Bryston isnt well suited for Martin Logans.
Had my B100 DA and ML Aeon I for five years now and the Aeon I is 4 ohms and 90 db (probably lower now), minimum impedance is 1,1 ohm at 20K.

Well, i ended up buying them for a good price of $6000 in dark cherry finish. I heard the Summit X and was hoping the Spire would capture most of what it had and it did. Of course, the Summit's do everything a bit fuller and louder. I also got to hear Naime for the first time as their electronics were powering the treble/midrange and it sound very good also.
As for the Bryston 4B not being powerful enought to handle the load of the Spires i believe it is more than enough since the Spires are designed with a powered 200Watt subwoofer and the 4B does 500Watts in 4ohm load. Anyway, food for thought.
Thanks to all that posted their feedback.  :thumb:

Mark,
Do you also have a pair of Klipsch Palladiums as pictured in your ID block?

Hi Mr_Bill,
No, i do not own the Klipsch. It was a thought of buying them a few years ago but, the dealer will not get a pair in for me to get re-aquainted with them so no more Klipsch. I heard them about 3 years ago but cannot remember what the damn things sound like now plus they jacked their prices recently.  :?
