I bought this DEQX unit to use while my other two DEQX’s were at the manufacturer being upgraded to the HDP 3 version. I used it for several months and then kept it in case one of the others broke. It turns out that the DEQX design’s reliability makes it unnecessary to keep a spare on hand, and so I am selling this one.
The improvement to my system that the DEQX delivered with its active crossover/triamping/speaker correction/room correction was so profound that I will never go back to single amp and passive crossover, which is why I kept a spare on hand!
The unit works flawlessly and includes the installer’s manual, user’s manual, remote control, measurement microphone, calibration kit, and original software disk. There are a couple minor flaws in the paintwork on the top of the case, that would not show up in my pictures, and I have put a blanking plate over the rear panel holes where the balanced output option was installed. The various optional output modules are a quick installation in the unit, except that on this model they require the owner to dril or cut numerous holes in the back panel. In the newer (HDP-3) chassis, all the holes are pre-cut and covered with a factory-provided blanking plate, but the PDC-2.6 chassis required cutting. Internally, all the connections are there and only required plugging the module in, so no internal mods, physical or electronic, have ever been done to this unit.
This unit had the optional Active Balanced Output module, which is a user-installable option and is not included in the sale price. However, if you want to use balanced outputs, I will re-install the balanced output module, which retails for $455, for an additional $250.
