Van Alstine /Salk is a very good combination.  I've owned AVA gear and can vouch for how great AVA amps and preamps sound.  Would be willing to bet, any AVA amp/preamp combo would drive those speakers nicely and provide great sound.

Another option is a SS amp and tube preamp.  Lots of people seem to like this combination because it gives you some of the attributes people like from both SS and tubes.  I have a Coda amp and a SAS 7A preamp.  It is a very nice combo with tons of power and smooth yet detailed top end.  I like to crank up the music when no one is home.  The SAS tubed preamp is not soft or tubey in the traditional sense but it sounds awesome.  They have a good demo policy and Steve has a 7A demo unit for sale.  Highly recommended!
