There's one on Audiogon right now.  Or you could buy one from Roger and be assured it's in perfect working condition.

Good luck!

i was too late on the one on the goN....submitted my offer for the full asking price when there was 70 views and missed out......i'm not going to take a 2nd mortgage to buy an amp that sold for $2500 and dealer cost was $1500 in 1990 and pay $3900 for it after its been sitting for 20 years and isn't even updated to MKII status.....it's a battle of wills and I will NEVER give in....but thanx!

Seems like supply and demand is the rule of the day. Finding Music Reference  equipment in good shape is rare and stealing it is even a rarer occurance. Good Luck

Not quite sure where the $3,900 comes from...or the significance of the dealer cost....

At any rate, if you find one cheap you can almost be guaranteed that it's been hacked.  Roger's bias/feedback network is over the heads of most technicians and when they try to repair a unit...

That is insane!    :nono:

Last year my buddy bought a mint condition mk2 on AG for around $1800.

exactly!....like a fool i sold a PRISTINE MKII about 4 years ago on the goN with both the rosewood and an extra oak base, 2 sets of Ram tubes AND the amp only had about a total of 50 hours on it since new....$2200 and that including expert packing, double boxing and the ride....AND it didn't sell that fast....took about 3 or 4 weeks

Did you contact the manufacturer to see if he has any demo / B-stocks / trade-ins coming up for sale soon?

Always worth a shot to support a brand you love. ;)
