Don't knock French Canadian cuisine. Ain't nothing wrong with pork pie, Blood sausage, donuts fried in lard, served at every meal, and fruit pies for breakfast. :thumb:

Hi ajayrav and all Audio Circle members.
I don't have to give up the Pho and Bun Bo Hue (Noodle soup), because there are more than 100 Vietnamese restaurants in Montreal.

As far as poutine goes, I am not too crazy about it, especially at close to 2,000 calories for one dish.

Don't wish me luck, instead, wish me health, because I will need it to re-start my life in Montreal at 64 years old.

Hi Doc and all Audio Circle members.
Pork pie, blood sausage amd donuts fried in lard are not my daily meals, as a matter of fact, I don't eat and I don't like those dishes...

Fruit pies for breakfast,
no,
but for desert, yes.

Blueberry, apple, lemon and pecan pies.
Oh yes, at least once a day...

Good luck in the move and transition.  I moved 170 miles towards the end of 1996 to my current location and it involved a temporary place and then my current place about 10 months and that was enough for me.  Can only imagine moving that kind of distance.
Hi Phil and all Audio Circle members.
Having to pack four boxes, each one the size of a large refregirator with dozens of items wrapped with protective foam is not too bad,

but the 15 hours flight between Hong Kong and Chicago is what kills me, plus 2 hours between Saigon adn Hong Kong and another extra hour between Chicago and Montreal...

Plus the fact that I will travel alone and forced to watch those boring movies and eat those cold snacks.

I always fly United Airlines, because I find the American crew more friendly than the Asian crew.

Well, all that adventure will be over very soon.
Time goes so fast.
I am already 63 years old.
Looks like I was 30 years old, just yesterday...

Good luck health with the move, Guy. 15 hours is not too bad at all, it's 16 from Sydney to Vancouver. (I think that's about the limit for commercial flights - ?)

Those crates will arrive and be unpacked before you know it  :thumb:

Hi John and all Audio Circle members.
I have been told that a Jumbo Jet 747
after 16 hours of flying, the wings tanks are completely dry.
My four plus crates will only be sent via sea cargo to Canada a few months after I have arrived,

this will give me time to find an appartment big enough to find room to store them.

I have to decide if my V1, V2, V2 sub and N3TL will join me after I have setlle down.
Those enclosures are almost the same size as monsters and to give their full potential, they need lots of room behind them, which I am not sure I will have.

I like very much my V1 and V2, therefore it would break my hart if I had to leave them behing in the hands of Vietnamese that cannot appreciate them.

Hey Guy, I can give you my advice after having moved between continents a number of years ago: ship everything that means anything to you. You will regret it later if you do not. The extra cost of putting things in crates, or even buying and shipping a couple of extra crates, is marginal compared to the cost of getting back those things that you wish you had brought with you.

Hi John and all Audio Circle members.
I am not too concerned about the cost of shipping my
V1 - V2 to canada,
but where I will put them when they arrive,
but since it will take up to one year for my wife to join me, she can hold on to my precious stuff and send them via sea cargo when she leaves Vietnam, but then, I hope I will have find a decent place...

Well, not sure about that one. I would think it's probably better to do one shipment. There are always storage options if things don't work out quite as planned.

Hi John and all Audio Circle members.
Thanks, I still have a few months ahead of me to decide how I will tackle that problem.

Hi Guy13 ,
I hope you will continue to write about your adventures in hi fi. I enjoy reading it as much as you enjoy playing with v1 and v2.
The V2 that i bought after reading your posts will be ready soon. Only the crossover to assemble.

Hi KP and all Audio Circle members.

While still in Vietnam, the only reason that would make me stop writing topics on Audio Circle would be that I have an hart attack and die or

while going to Canada if the 747 crash and

once in Canada,
would be that I get hit by lightining,

otherwise, I will continue to post my opinion...

Look as if you are working on your V2 only in your spare times.

I am looking forward to read you impressions on the performance of the V2.

Even if I prefer the sound of my V1,
I would sell the V1 before selling the V2.

Have fun with the construction of your crossover.

Hi Rclark and all Audio Circle members.

For the past 16 years on planet Vietnam,
I never stopped speaking French, with my wife
and English with the Vietnamese.

Believe me or not,
even after 16 years with the Vietnamese,
I still can't speak fluently the Vietnamese language.

The Vietnamese language, what an imprecise language.

Once back in my home country,
I will be very happy speaking one of the two officials Canadian languages.

Au revoir et bonne journee.
Good bye and good day.
