Bi-Amp Question
« on: 11 May 2011, 05:27 pm »
I'm thinking about passively bi-amping my RM30Ms.  The impedance description on VMPS website is "Sensitivities/Impedances: Ribbon array about 93 dB / 8 Ohms, bass section about 91 dB / 4 Ohms."

Does this mean that, in a bi-amp configuration, the bass amp will be seeing a 4 Ohm load, while the treble/mid amp will be seeing an 8 Ohm load?

Thanks!

If you really want kick-ass results, put a line level 12db per octave low-pass filter @280hz in line with the bass amp and bypass the RM30's internal woofer coil.  This can be done either passively or actively.

A little more effort than passive bi-amping but a significant increase in woofer clarity and control.
