4BSST Gain Setting Questions
« on: 5 Feb 2011, 06:35 pm »
Hey everyone. I have a 4BSST and for the longest time my right channel was quieter than the left. I thought it was simply my hearing, or speaker placement, but I finally decided to switch the L/R speakers to the opposite outputs and it confirmed that something was up with my amp. For some reason I decided to fiddle with the gain settings. I am running XLR and had put both gain settings on 1Volt. I set my left channel to 2Volt and the right channel to 1Volt and my system came alive and sounds WONDERFUL!

Any thoughts on what should be done or why I am having this issue?

Is it worth sending back to Bryston, or should I live with it?

Thanks for you comments.

Hi,

Did you try swaping the left and right XLR inputs to the amp just to make sure it is not a cable problem -  if one of the balanced cables was not wired correctly it would cause a gain mismatch?
