Does anyone know if the Denon 3803 when set to the Pure Direct or Direct mode (or otherwise) applies any processing to an analog signal coming into the CD input? I know signals to the Ext. In inputs are not processed, but was wondering if you could also connect a second stereo component that way.

In direct mode the analog signal is still re-digitized.  You're better off using the digital input or the ext inputs.
