Now that we have these drivers what kind of boxes are you putting them in. According to Bill Fitzmaurice they will work in the THT. I a going to build at least one of those, what other projects are in the works?

I am going to try it open baffle (very soon, like tonite or tomorrow) and the probably make a sealed sandbox with the sa1 amp...

I am working with Mark Seaton to come up with a DIY kit, will probably use multiples of drivers in a sealed configuration, should be fun.  I dont want to say a lot till I have everything worked out and tested though.

I have a pair of these drivers that were pulled from MFW-15 subs with dead amplifiers.  I am looking at doing a isobaric configured sealed sub.  A 3 cf enclosure looks decent for one driver. An isobaric loaded pair should let me shrink that volume by a half and get the same performance.

I like the idea of a smaller sub for aesthetic reasons. And for DIY where a smaller enclosure is easier to build, stiffen, etc...

I am doing a dual opposed sealed build with my pair in a 24" cube. The enclosure will be 1.5" thick mdf all the way around.

Except mms is doubled, alright for ht maybe, not so much for music.  :dunno:

I don't understand what you're implying. The whole purpose of an isobaric configuration is to reduce the Vas and enclosure size by half over a single driver which is effectively the same as doubling the moving mass.   Of course the efficiency will drop, but that's not an issue for me personally.

And its effect on the suitability for certain kinds of audio reproduction is debatable.

Many years ago I built a pair of isobaric subs and found them to be quite good in an all music system.  I think it all depends on the implementation.
