Hello,
On a recent yard sale run, I came across a Yamaha 2020 receiver. It didn't work when plugged up. No lights, no meters moved, no nothing. Hoping it was just a fuse or something simple I brought it home only to find out that was not the problem. To make a long story short, I found a service notice on-line about "power switch problems". After hooking up a jumper wire with alligator clips from "here" to "there" to bypass whatever doo-hickie as instructed in the notice, I crossed my fingers & flipped the switch....... IT WORKED !!!!!!!!! (15 minute happy dance).
My question is.... should I make my lucky repair permanent & solder it or leave it temporary so it can be fixed properly at a later time. (will I do more damage by the permanent bypass)?
Thanks,
Mark
