Sounds like Scott F. should answer this one.  Based on the GTG I've attended at Scott's, I'd say we are all vintage folks, maybe even our audio gear.   :thumb:

Well, I've got a nice mix of both. My main system is a combo of new Lowthers and vintage Altec 416s (300b amps). My Redrum system uses reboxed Klipsch Cornwalls (2a3 amp). I've got a true vintage room set up that has a Dual 1229 with a Shure V15 type 3 feeding Scott 299A (back on the repair bench) which drives a pristine pair of Large Advents (walnut). I've got another 299d that I'm in the middle of restoring (every cap on in the chassis plus a few key resistors and the voltage regulator). Up in my wood shop I use a 90s Rotel RC-970BX pre and Rotel 981 amp to drive a pair of JBL 4410 studio monitors.

...and then there is my mono system dedicated to 78s. I use (or will once I fix the TT) a Dual 1210 with a Shure M78 mono cart which feeds a Stromberg Carlson AR425 which drives an Altec 824 Iconic. 78s are amazing on this system.

If I ever get some spare time, I'll finish troubleshooting the Heathkit WM5 that mates to the Heathkit pre (I forget the model). This pairing will be Blackmore's dedicated 78 rig. He'll mate them to an EV Aristocrat.

If you're curious, click on the link to my systems located in my signature. You can also browse through my (and everybody's) galleries by clicking the Gallery link in our signature lines. You'll get an idea of our events and how systems have progressed over the years.

Oh, I use a Sony TA integrated from the 70s to drive a pair of Infinity Qe in my electronic workshop. I forgot about that one  :duh:

As you get to know everybody you'll find there isn't too much latest and greatest. Most have slightly older gear with some new stuff mixed in. Almost everybody has modded their gear to get the most out of it. Some do our own mods/repairs while others take advantage of John Hillig or Jeff at Computronix for mods/repairs.

So yep, there are some vintage guys hanging around  :thumb:

...and yes LOTS of tubes  :green:
