Tripath Amp and WiFi: Interference?
« on: 6 Jun 2010, 10:02 am »
Since I have a Class-T amp (TA 10.2), the Squeezebox mutes from time to time for some seconds and rebuffers. I think that the near Tripath chip seems to interfere with the WLAN/WiFi reception.

Has anybody else suffered from such an effect?

Is there something I can do in order to reduce transmission of the T-amp? (connect metal case to ground?)

Thanks
Thomas

I have used the same amp with no issue. How do you know it is the amp?

Well, I'm not 100% sure, but the problems started when I added the TA to my chain a few weeks ago. And the Squeezebox seems to stream without any problem when I switch the TA off.

I read reports that there may occur interference of TA with FM radio reception within 5 meters or so. And maybe that wifi band is affected too.

But to make it clear: I'm not 100% sure. But there seems to be some evidence.
