Deftone,

I would imagine a fair amount of work goes into testing speaker spikes. And in my opinion stick with the factory ones, but it's your dime. And I guess as long as they fit and you like the way they look, get the ones you're refering to. After all they are just spikes. My opinion though.

I just go new speaks and currently using stock spikes, but my friend who has same ones, told me he he heard a nice step up with the herbies threaded gliders. You just have to know what size to buy. They give a 90day trial period, so not much to lose if you dont like, plus they protect the floor and look like they allow you to move w/o lifting the speaks..  I have no afilliation with them, just a friends advice who has been at this hobby for about as long as i'm alive.

The question is, why does B&W supply such cheap and cheezy spikes with their speakers? It's not like their speakers are cheap in price!

With a 22 caliber concrete round, and call it good. With a big enough room you could play table tennis by yourself!  :thumb:

Expensive, but well worth the $$$ http://www.starsoundtechnologies.com/SinglePlatforms.HTML

or for less $$$ http://www.starsoundtechnologies.com/THREADED.HTML

Both provide an audible improvement over the spikes B&W provide. If you can afford it, go with the Sistrum stand

The Soundocity outriggers are excellent, especially if you need a bit more stability.
As a bonus they will steal your pics and post them in their gallery if they like them. Here's my pic in their gallery.

 Should I get a royalty?

That's true.  I have old P6s as mains in the secondary basement system and while I don't use the system tons, their spikes are not the greatest and don't even fully penetrate the carpet and padding over the concrete basement floor.  I don't use the spikes for my Rel subs I have in the main system (they are sitting on ceramic tiles) and I might drag them out and see if they fit. From memory, they looked much nicer than the B&W ones.

I have used Sound Anchors with great success on 804s, 803s and 802s. I recommend them to my clients who buy B&Ws even though we are not a dealer

I've heard good things about Sound Anchors for years. I've never seen them in person or tried them, though.
