Brian's Gallery :: Saurav's GaincloneI've had this for many years, and for the last few years it's been sitting unused, and I'm trying to clean out some parts. I built this in an instrument enclosure I picked up at a surplus shop. I always planned to move it to a bigger / better case, so I didn't cut down any of the transformer wires (as the pictures show). I used it as a woofer amp for a couple of years, and it worked great. Recently I tried it as a full-range amp, and the gain is too high for my 96dB speakers - I get my normal listening volume with the preamp volume control all the way down.
This is a fully functioning amp, but I would suggest buying this only if you plan to clean it up a little - put it in a better chassis, maybe use better RCA/speaker connectors.
I think this is the LM3875, but I can open it up and get details if someone wants them. I used the recommended transformer from Plitron or Avel Lindberg, but now I don't remember what's in there.
Not sure what an appropriate price for this is... $100 + shipping maybe? If you're interested or have any questions, make me an offer.
Prefer to ship within USA or Canada, prefer Paypal, but neither of those are hard restrictions.
