Hi Ian,

Can you cofirm whether the 845s and 211s have thoriated tungsten filaments or oxide coated filaments? It's my understanding that if its the later the standard 10V 3.25A filament supply would need to be modified as oxide coated filaments would only draw around 10V 1A. Thanks for your help.

I'm beginning work on a 211 amp and it's nice to know that there will be once again be current production tubes available.

EDIT: I'm a dope. On the 845 page at your website it clearly says oxide coated filaments and 10V 0.6A. I had only looked at the 211 page. In that case, I'll change my question to: Any chance that Grant Fidelity will begin carrying Shuguang 845B and 211B with thoriated tungsten filaments? Thanks.

Hi John,

Yes these tubes are designed around modern amp designs and are not a direct replacement for the RCA amp designs. It is supposed to be a simple amp mod to use the TJ's. Rachel is actually working on this and documentation has been translated into English and should be up on the TJ site soon.

We are working closely with both Shuguang and TJ to get the 'hard to get' tubes out on the market with different flavours. The Shuguang 211, 805's and 845's are out of stock at the factory for the highest quality and premium matched pairs, we will get some as they are made again to the spec we expect.
