Clarinet input pot - can it be 100K ?
« on: 2 Oct 2008, 10:43 pm »
The design of the Clarinet line stage calls for a 50K pot as volume control.  Can this be substituted with a 100K without altering the Clarinet's performance or operation?  I am thinking of using a motorized potentiometer from Alps and may be able to easily get a 100K version.

Should be ok.  Change the balance pot too.

Jim,

Since I am using only a single 50k attenuator, instead of the balance and attenuator, do I need to add additional loading before the attenuator to balance my Clarinet?    If so, should I select 25k or 50k ohms for the loading resistor?

Cheers!

Probably best off just bypassing the balance control.
