Plitron transformers in Bryston amps

Hi James
The 28BSST uses the renowned Plitron transformers. I wonder if Plitron transormers are also used in your other amplifiers, including the transformers for the digital part of the circuitry. Being a Canadian company, and I think not too far from Bryston's factory in Ontario, it would make good sense to use their excellent transformers and at the same time lend support to Canadian industries. Looking back at my acquisitions, I have no less than 3 excellent audio products from the land of the Mapletree - Black Sand power cords, Bryston and Bent Audio's TAP TVC. Plitron would make it four!

Best Regards
Dennis

Hi Dennis,

Yes most of our transformers are proprietary designs and made custom for us by Plitron- including the transformers used in the Torus products.

Thanks for the info, James. Are these transformers a big contributor to the Bryston sound?

Yes it is certainly a big part of it.  Power supply design is critical in all products including our CD Player and DAC and preamps.
