Bryston and programmable remotes
« on: 5 May 2008, 06:07 pm »

 hi all!

 is anyone using programmable remotes?

there are the philips sbc ru 990 and a few logitech (former slim device?!) remote controlers that i am interested in.

is the philips 990 much better than a logitech only because it is much more expensive???

 thanx,

 al.

Logitech remotes will control the SP2 without any problem.

 hi, square!

 thanx for response.

if thats the case i will go for a ''harmony one'' remote.

i assume the bp 26 and the bcd-1 will be controled without problems as well...

Worked, fine with my SP1, before I swapped it out. (My new processor has pages of codes I need to pare down.)

Yeah but why would anybody want to use anything other than the nice heavy Bryston remote.  I have been contemplating a programable remote.  SONY, Logitech or Rotel but actually was going to use the programable to consolidate the TV, Cable box, and DVD player.

After using the Bryston remote (BP25) the other remotes feel like toys.  The remote for the BCD1 works on the preamp. So instead of 5-6 remotes.  I would be down to two.

If you are consolidating existing, working remotes, I would strongly recommend a learning remote.  These are typically less expensive than the ones with extensive code "libraries"
