It looks like dual Aurasounds (the nicer series NS10-794), dual Accuton's (C82's?), and a Scan Speak 6600.   What I mean is they look awesome! I don't know about the doobage reference....but I'm sure they make some killer full range sounds.

Blessings to you and your craft Rick,

C

Good detective work - those are the drivers.  :thumb:

The C82 has a different voice coil than the T8 version. The doobage reference wasn't really intended. I came up with the name since they are headed to Hawaii.  :D

As posted, the speakers look like your Garnet and RC5.

What's the connection with Maui Wowie?

No connection other than that the speakers are shipping to Hawaii and the name came to mind while I was suffering from only 3 hours of sleep the night before.  :)

Those look like Scanspeak rather than Aurasound woofers...if so, any comments on the differences? Are these sealed or ported?

Sorry - I forgot to comment on the Scan-Speak versus the Aura. The Aura woofer has higher sensitivity than the 23W4557 and greater excursion capability. The SS will give you a lower 3db cutoff in a sealed box but the -10db point is very close for both of them.

Great speakers. So, we  're not going to have a "name that speaker" contest? Where is all the fun?
