Hey Wayner,

Let me know what the differences are between the Topp DAC and the Ultra DAC if you ever decide to upgrade.  Like you, I have been very happy with my Topp DAC and can't justify the price difference to upgrade with such good sound now.

I upgraded from a TOPP-DAC to an Ultra 3 years ago, and it was well worth the money.  Not as big a jump as from a non-DAC to a TOPP-DAC, but definitely worthwhile.

Meyer & Moran (2007) report that there is no audible difference between 16-bit/44.1-kHz processing and 24-bit/192-kHz PCM or 1-bit/2.8442-MHz DSD.

It appears that Mr. Van Alstine, as usual, was right all along.

Anyone know how I can obtain a copy of Meyer & Moran's report?

I need to understand the whole playback chain to determine if the report is correct or if there possibly is links in their audio chain capable of obscuring any differences that were undetected by the setup engineers.
