:D I am all for getting the mass and bulk of metal out of all those connections, it seems to me the metal will deffinetly ring and no matter how minor its getting in the chain.  I know Groover was using el-cheapo RCAs on his ICs a few yrs back, so there might be something overlooked in the march toward all this artilary looking wire and connectors?

I was shocked some cheap thin metal solderless rubber sleeved rat shack RCAs (the 70s metal) sounded nearly as good as the heavy gold soldered rat shacks.  The only reason they were so close I speculate is the pin in the gold was better and construction more robust and soldered joints.  Where is the trade of, if the golds where less massive but still made well would they have improved in sound?

this is why I am heading for the echiman stuff, makes sense to me to get all the ringing stuff out of the chain as possible, even wraping my amp fuse in teflon gave MS an improvement subtle but and improvement, add 10 or 12 subtles and we may get a substantial improvement in the sum.
