This Electra cable seems to be very good too when used as a digital cable.
I currently have three digital cables for a shoot-out:
1. I ordered a 1.5m single Electra cable from Danny to be used as digital cable
2. VH Audio Pulsar with WBT Nextgen RCA upgrade
3. Zu Ash

My system consists of SB3 -> Tact -> Moscode 401HR -> Salk HT3

My previous digital cable is a cheap $30 Belden digital cable from Bluejeanscable.

The Zu Ash seems to give the most details and transparent sound. It gives the impression that it is the most "un-obstructive" cable among the three. It does everything correctly, but sounded rather mechanical to me. Perhaps a little too bright for my taste, or maybe the hasrhness is from my system, and the cable is just doing its job letting all the signal through.

The VH Audio Pulsar is relatively more "musical" (a meaningless term but I don't know what other words I can use to describe it). It's not as open as the Zu Ash, but to me it has sufficient details and it tone down the harshness a little. The soundstage is further away from me, and is flatter than Zu Ash. The image (vocal and each individual instrument) is the smallest and sharpest. Overall, it's the least holographic of the three cables.

The Electra cable does something weird in my system, it enlarge and soften the image, the bass goes deeper (perhaps a little "loose" compared to VH Pulsar and Zu Ash), it expand the depth of the soundstage, bring forward the image closer to listening position. The vocal blends nicely with instrument,  whereas the VH Pulsar will really make the vocal stand out. Although the image is not as refined as the VH Pulsar, but it sounds more natural to me.

I need more time to decide which cable to keep... so far, I'm very impressed with the Electra cable, considering that it's less than half the price of the other two cables.

How does the cheap Blue Jeans dig. cable sound compared to the rest?

It sounded quite like the Zu Ash, but the Bluejeans is slightly harsher, and less 3D effect.

As far as value/price is concerned, the Bluejeans is the top value among all 4 cable... but heck.. we're audiophile,  how can we allow cheap cables in our system?

Maybe instead of cheap we could say inexpensive. I asked because I have the BJ economy dig. cable. but I'm always on the lookout for something better. Since it is just one cable, I might be able to splurge on something special. Of course since I just sent my SB3 to Wayne for the full mods I might just be using the analog outs.

Mine have just arrived. Got a 1/2 meter and 1 meter pair. Very well made. I'm off for lunch, so I'm gonna stop home and hook 'em up and cook 'em up a bit.

Cheers

I just got my 2M and they are too short - crap  :x :x  I don't know how I measured wrong :(  Hopefully they make them in 2.5m length.  I'm using a 1m pair between pre and dac - they have about 100 hrs on them and sound very nice

I went home for lunch and listened to Refugees of the Heart by Steve Winwood. I really like the production on that record. So I listened to the intro to trk 1 over and over to get it burned into my head. Powered down, swapped cables and turned the amp back on. The CD was already playing and I mistakenly reached for the volume knob and turned it down. Ok, so much for level matching.  :duh:

So I'll refrain from giving a review for now. But in all fairness, I'll let them run in for a few weeks and then do a proper A/B comparison.

For what it's worth, although I didn't swap back, I thought that the bass extended a little lower and was a bit better defined. Top end, not sure, but maybe a wee bit more airy.

We'll wait and see!

Cheers

Just a note on length for those contemplating these...
Build quality seems high, and visually they really are quite nice.
But they are a bit stiff, and feel a fragile in the sense that they would not respond well to sharp turns.  So they require gentle bends when travelling to gear.
Definitely not "soft" like shoelaces.....ya gotta run them like a "U" or a "C".

I'd say you wanna allow a good 5 to 6 inches behind each RCA input before bending them into a gentle curve.

Just FYI when determining lengths....don't leave yourself short!

Yup, you can't run these if the backs of your units are very close to a wall, or if they are a tight fit in a cabinet. I have my CDP sitting on top of my pre-amp and a 1/2 meter pair bow out a good 8". Not a big deal, but worthwile to mention.

I received two pair of the ElectraCables interconnects from Danny earlier this week.  I am using one pair between my CDP/SACD and preamp and one between my phono pre and preamp.  Right out of the box they sound very nice, with the exception of some woolly bass.  I have a CD on repeat burning in the cables and should have 100+ hours on them by this Saturday, after which I'll offer some additional thoughts and observations.

The cables are very well constructed, nice red sheathing, and Danny shipped them quickly.  If all bodes well, I'll be putting in an order for a 4m interconnect from my pre-amp to my amp and pestering Danny to have ElectraCables produce speaker cables.

Hmm..interesting observation. When used as a analog interconnect between my Tact preamp and Moscode amp, I certainly didn't hear the "woolly" bass in my system when I compared them with Zu Gede, Grover, and Audioquest Colorado.

But when used as a "digital" cable between my SB3 and Tact preamp, yes, the bass is a little "loose"  compared to Zu Ash, VH Audio Pulsar. However, the Electra does something "special", from mid to high range, the sound is silky smooth, very analog, I have absolutely nothing to complain about. I used Diana Krall's "Love Scene" to calibrate my system, her voice just sounded very real and natural with the Electra, the overall presentation is more holographic, more ambient. All the other digital cables I tried may have tighter bass, more refined image, but the mid to high always sounded a little too harsh to my ear. I have a feeling that if someone needs to get rid of some brightness in their system, the Electra cable may work - when used as a digital cable.

Danny,

Are you still selling these cables?  Is the pricing the same as originally listed?

Thanks
