This Electra cable seems to be very good too when used as a digital cable.
I currently have three digital cables for a shoot-out:
1. I ordered a 1.5m single Electra cable from Danny to be used as digital cable
2. VH Audio Pulsar with WBT Nextgen RCA upgrade
3. Zu Ash
My system consists of SB3 -> Tact -> Moscode 401HR -> Salk HT3
My previous digital cable is a cheap $30 Belden digital cable from Bluejeanscable.
The Zu Ash seems to give the most details and transparent sound. It gives the impression that it is the most "un-obstructive" cable among the three. It does everything correctly, but sounded rather mechanical to me. Perhaps a little too bright for my taste, or maybe the hasrhness is from my system, and the cable is just doing its job letting all the signal through.
The VH Audio Pulsar is relatively more "musical" (a meaningless term but I don't know what other words I can use to describe it). It's not as open as the Zu Ash, but to me it has sufficient details and it tone down the harshness a little. The soundstage is further away from me, and is flatter than Zu Ash. The image (vocal and each individual instrument) is the smallest and sharpest. Overall, it's the least holographic of the three cables.
The Electra cable does something weird in my system, it enlarge and soften the image, the bass goes deeper (perhaps a little "loose" compared to VH Pulsar and Zu Ash), it expand the depth of the soundstage, bring forward the image closer to listening position. The vocal blends nicely with instrument, whereas the VH Pulsar will really make the vocal stand out. Although the image is not as refined as the VH Pulsar, but it sounds more natural to me.
I need more time to decide which cable to keep... so far, I'm very impressed with the Electra cable, considering that it's less than half the price of the other two cables.
