Scotty, good point, however I feel that can be said with the insertion of any quality IC silver or copper. We have tried Nordst through RAdio shack basically with the same results Silver does NOT have the emotional impact or body and soul as copper and copper dosn't have the clarity, detail and speed of silver. Now if we could get the benifits of both in one cable now were talking. There is NO BETTER CABLE[copper vs silver] just different presentations We as a club do not have experience with VDH cables as he is reluctant to send any for our evaluation. rollo
gme109, Try the copper IC between pre & and the silver between CDP & pre.You should get the flavor of copper as the end result with some more clarity and detail, just seems to take advantage of both designs.Kind of like a good marriage. I've found that the last link you make appears to show itself more with some of the character of initial link.Don't know why.Try it and let us know.rollo
Hi guys,I've read that the stock spades on the speaker cables aren't too high quality.Does anyone have experience replacing them with something better?Or can they be ordered with something "upgraded"?Thanks-Mike

I honestly can't say anything about a break in period on solid wire, which is what both of these are. I can say they sound great right outta the box. If they get better over time, great, if not, I won't be disappointed 'cause I like them already. I still have a hard time believing in break in time for something like a solid wire. I think that my ears adjust to sound of the cable, not the cable changing. But that's just my opinion.
Ray - The golden helix are much thinner, two thin, "oxygen free" wires wrapped around eachother, non-terminated. The anti-cables are a bit heavier gauge and come either as banana or spade and are typically separated, but of course you can wrap them together if you want. Actually, you can also get them non-terminated as well. Probably a bit cheaper. Anyway, the the Anti-cables are probably 3 times thicker. But they're both still pretty thin. I'd compare the Anti-Cable gauge to just a little less than say, one of those cheaper shirt hangers, and the GH to say, a paper clip, maybe thinner? You can see pics of both on their respective web sites.Something about the Golden Helix that I can't quite put my finger on, but I prefer them just a bit, but use both. GH on my tube system and the AC on my solid state system. Still, both are an excellent value in my opinion.
