I want a headphone amp that sounds as good as the Channel Islands D200 monoblocks. Is there any class D headphone amps out there. Thanks.

If you found one it would probably cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Or a little more.

I believe Red Wine Audio can outfit a Clari-T as a headphone amplifier.
I would talk to Vinnie about it.

You would probably need to rewire you cans, unless the have AKG 1000's.

You need to have seperate grounds, and not a shared ground that is standard with headphones, to use a sonic impact type amp.

why does it have to be class D?

Class D is mostly for efficiency and compactness (high power factor). Headphone amps are low-power devices so there really isn't as much of a need there as in say a 1kw power amp for class d.

OK, let me rephrase the question.

What headphone amp would bring me the closest to the sound quality of the Channel Islands D200's monoblock power amplifiers. Thanks.
