thats why i spent what i did for 2 odyssey monos for sub duty for my vmps large-and never had the slightest regret-well i have thought about having them upgraded to the extreme mono version a few times-

not to sound like a prick but i would put my large with the monos against anything  for music- even guys who have a ton more power at hand-

Good luck with your new eAR amps!  I have had my eAR Two for over 2 years now.  Peter was great during my buying process and he provided excellent service when the shipping company managed to damage the amp.

I am curious about the new NuForce amps... would be great for someone to do a head to head vs Acoustic Reality.  I just got my new modded SACD player yesterday... when its finally broken in I may consider doing a 30 day trial of the NuForce to see how it compares with my 1st gen eAR Two.

I finally received my pair of eAR1001's Tuesday May 31.  They were on tract to be delieverd by May 26th until US Customs got involved.  Peter called me from Denmark to explain that it is the first time he had to fax 21 pages of technical information on the amps to US customs for them to be cleared.  They cleared Friday morning 30 minutes too late to be on the plane leaving for DC.  So they just sat there over the long weekend.  Peter was convinced that it was a case of industrial espionage to get information out of him or that US is trying to make things hard to be imported to encourage customers to buy within the border.  I thought it was some inane post 9/11 perfunctory random check.   Anyhow, thanks to Peter's quick fax reply, the amps were cleared in 2 day.  I must say it was beyond the call of duty for Peter to call me at home to explain what was happening,  especially since he left one message and then call me in the evening (wee hours in Denmark) to speak in person.

The amps look sleek but simple with just a blue LED in the front.  They come with both single end and balanced inputs and 2 sets of binding posts.  No PC included -- I ordered and got Signal Cable MagicPower for them.  These out of the box are great with my woofers.  I am only asking them to perform between ~50 Hz and ~300Hz and they do.  I am not sure why, but I ended up putting more putty back on the radiator.  Could it be that 1 Kwatt into 4 ohms with >1000 damping factor is overpowering even the megawoogers?  The midwoofer and the bass woofers are singing like they never did before.  I am listening to T. Rex because my soon to be 3 daughter insists on dancing to Cosmic Dancer -- our evening ritual is "shaking head" to Bolan and Finn.  Frankly, I am getting tired of T. Rex but she insists on them.  I thought the CD (a BMG compilation special) was just badly mastered but I was wrong.  With tight woofers, it actually sounds good with thumping drums and rhythm guitar that actually keeps pace.  Lead guitar distortions actually sound purposive and "musical."

I got them playing 24/7.  I will post more after the suggested breaking in period of 50 hrs.

I own 2 eartwo power amps I used to be very happy with them, but at the moment I've send several emails to acoustic reality about a service request and they have never answered my emails(first mail is form almost 2 month ago).
His amps sounds great but his after sales service sucks.

Today I finaly recieved an email form acoustic reality, so for now Peter has agian my support. His amps still rocks his service is still not perfect.

When you run in to problems with his products you can better call the company then send a email.
