A customer purchased a dspNexus 2/8 with AK4499EX DAC's is replacing his Infinity IRS Beta speaker servo subs with new passive drivers.  This is similar to the mod done by PS Audio to the IRS Reference V speakers they own.

The customer replaced the 8-12in sub drivers with the model that Paul McGowan suggested.

The dspNexus is replacing the interface box that normally has the active crossover and servo interface.  With Audio Weaver setup a new DSP crossover to make measurements with REW.  Measured the sub column and Beta speakers.   Then made one more measurement at his listening seat.  Generated the correction filters needed loaded them into the Audio Weaver block diagram.

He is listening to the results with his system now.  He will be doing further measurements of the speakers and room to complete the crossover design with speaker correction and room bass management.

Pictures of his setup once he take it.

Here is the Infinity IRS Beta setup with the dspNexus 2/8 running the updated sub towers and crossover to the Betas.  This replaced the Infinity Controller system originally in use.

Very nice system. I have a pair of the Infinity Beta 50s and like them a lot. Probably upgrade in the future though.
