I primarily use my BDP Pi as a Roon endpoint these days.  What exactly happens internally when running the Pi as endpoint.  When you set the playback method to Roon it shuts down MPD correct?  Does it just use Roon libraries to render the stream from there?  What software/hardware is used?

MPD is turned off, and the BDP becomes a Roon Ready Renderer.  The Roon Library is utilized.
