At minimum try to hard wire into stream using CAT6 ethernet cable!

Why, and what differences did you encounter when swapping out CAT 5 for CAT 6?  Unless you have a 1GB internet signal from your internet provider, CAT 5 is well within spec for a home internet signal.

I haven't really compared I use hardwired cat7 to Zen stream from my Asus router. No more drop outs. Sound is very sublime. I can't imagine any better. I think you will need $7k streamer to beat this.
