It says MPD is ON on the service page and yes I can play radio stations. I want to remind you that both my BDP-1's are behaving the same way.

Hi,

I dusted off my BDP-1 and powered it up yesterday and looks like one of the 3rd party programs that handles parts of the web UI requires a feature not found in the CPU used in the BDP-1's so it doesn't start and thus those parts of the web ui does not work.  In the mean time i've set the current beta(testing) release of the firmware to a version that doesn't contain the updated binary.

I'm getting this after the update so I think it worked but I don't see any difference. I refreshed the page and then rebooted it......... I'm still playing with it.

I'm also losing connection for a second whenever I hit any navigation button. That was happening before and after the beta update.

"NOT BDP-1 compatible
If you've installed this on your BDP-1 you can install the current beta release
Installing test branch
We are working on a fix for BDP-1's"

I've just update my BDP-1 with latest firmware "S2.45 2022-08-06" and "connection lost"
I can browse Qobuz album but cannot add to play. Local audio file can play from front panel button with no issue.

I got my music loaded. Totally different sequence that I normally did. I'll see if I can repeat the process on my second player.

A shout out to Bryston audio!

I’ve spent a couple of days working with Bryston software engineers to resolve some connectivity issues between my wireless network and their digital player (my BDP-1) after installing a firmware upgrade that wasn’t quite compatible with my BDP-1.

Then today, I monkeyed around with my network sharing and adapter settings and lost my computer’s connection to the network entirely, so I ended up resetting the ip parameters and clearing and flushing the DNS cache and uninstalling / reinstalling my wireless network adapter drivers.

Meanwhile, the Bryston software engineers wrote and uploaded the latest patch to the firmware code that would be compatible with my BDP-1, incorporated a website link for the revised download, and sent me an email where to get it.  I tried the download and firmware upgrade again today and now everything works perfectly.

I have spent a lot of money (close to $40,000.00) on Bryston gear since 2007, and the electronic components are under warranty for 20 years, so it’s nice to see a company with this kind of customer support backing up the investment.

I cannot say enough about Bryston - a Canadian company, no less - and their products and after-sale service.

I'll try but I'm not really available to do it until maybe the weekend.

All I play are local audio files off a usb hard drive. I used the front panel like you did. What are you trying to do beyond that?

I mainly stream Qobuz and Tidal online music that BDP-1 can not play since that firmware update.
I tried beta but seem not do also.

My BDP-1 freezes up after I pause it. Not all the time. Sometimes it'll be paused anywhere from 20 minutes to overnight before it freezes up and I have to reboot it. In the last week I've rebooted dozens of times. I've done everything I could think of on the network side but no luck. Any ideas?

Clearing the dns cache seems to have solved the issue. Knock on wood.

Nope. Back to square one. Still freezing up coming out of a pause.

my.bryston.com is NOT CORRECT.

mybryston.com is Correct.

Both work. my.bryston.com is a secure connection,  mybryston.com is not.

Ok. I switched usb ports in the back of the unit from the bottom one to the top one for my hard drive and it's been a couple of days since I've had to reboot. The hard drive may not have been seated properly in the usb port. I will try the bottom one again someday. Back to enjoying my music.  :thumb:

I quit doing updates on my BDP1, seems like every time I do, I have issues.  Last time I had an issue didn't get much support from Bryston, a member from this site had same issue, he assisted me to correct the problem and no issues since,.
