Mini Tweeter
« on: 2 Oct 2022, 01:31 am »
One of the tweeters on one speaker has had a little finger on it and dented it in a bit. Is there a recommended/safe way to return the tweeter to a dome shape? I hesitate due to the delicateness of the dome material. Any and all help is appreciated. This is the pair that her and I built for her.

Thanks,
JCarney

Disssemble the tweeter anf push thr dome out from the backside. A metal tweeter (and some others like T27) will not come back completely.

Thanks Dave, I appreciate the guidance. I've never disassembled any driver, so this will be a new adventure.  :o

If it is a cheap tweeter you wil unlikely be able to disassemble it.

What kind of tweeter?

The Mini tweeters are pretty easy to disassemble, and you can use something soft to gently push it back out.

Just remove the four hex screws to remove the front plate from the motor structure. I've done it once before.

I take her home from climbing class on Tues, so I'll take tools and do it then and report back. Thanks for the advice gentlemen.

Wish me luck,
