I don't see why more manufacturers don't use the Servo OB solution that Danny and Rhythmik offer. It's a simple/easy solution that gives tons of bass slam while keeping OB wave propagation. Going from an OB upper section to any kind of sealed or boxed bass solution just makes no sense to me.
It isn't, and you could do the exact same thing with a servo ob sub. The rear driver is not adding to the output, it's taking away from it by destructively interfering with the back wave and thus forcing a cardioid response. I also disagree about bass slam with OB, imo that's what it lacks most of all. Between lack of slam and inefficiency I just don't get it, but to each their own!
Dave, I agree with you for every other OB sub system I've ever heard. Except the Servo OB subs that Danny at GR Research has created. It's better than any other OB system out there (that I've heard), and its better than any sealed box subwoofer I've ever heard too. Punch, slam, depth, pitch, clarity, and a remarkably easy integration into real world rooms. If you get a chance, you really should give it a listen - it's quite a remarkable achievement.
Hmmm...I have a pair.....they work rather well. For all of you bad mouthing Tekton without having ever listened to them properly set up....well......

Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I do make it my policy to never listen to any piece of audio equipment properly set up.
I believe this to be an amusing 4 year old typo on Tyson's part.
And as far as Tekton is concerned, why do so many love to hate that company? It always seems they get thrown under the bus by folks that have never heard the product and are heralded by folks who have heard them and most even own them. If they were bad the owners would have sent them back on the 60 day trial. I just don't understand the bias.
Rhythmik doesn't offer an OB product. They only supply the servo amps for GR. I talked with Rhythmik and asked why they didn't offer an OB. They said they get better results with enclosed speakers. And it obviously isn't due to cost.
