Servo in smaller cabinet
« on: 22 Jun 2020, 04:39 pm »
I'm changing the sub in my bedroom system to a servo sub and as my sub cabinet is built into my entertainment center I don't want to build a new cabinet. The existing cabinet is only 1.9cu ft and the servo calls for 2 cu ft will the .1 cu ft make much a difference?

I've always heard that +-10% is not an appreciable factor... and even less for servo.  You should be ok.

You can also play around with different amounts of stuffing material which will change the effective volume of the cabinet. But I wouldn't bother unless you are finding problems with the bass response.

As it's my bedroom system that doesn't get played that loud should be fine.
