I'm mike from Oregon.  Interested in learning how to modify/tweak gear for optimum performance from the collective experience and wisdom of the assembled here.  Not quite a "hairshirt" audiophile, but I do run Matrix 801s with tubes...so am a little crazy!

Hi Mike,

Welcome to Audio Circle!  :thumb:

Two tweaks that immediately come to mind worth exploring are tube dampers for your tubes. Personally, I’d warmly recommend Herbie’s Halos... https://herbiesaudiolab.com/collections/tube-dampers

And DIY ground loops... https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=87809.0

Thanks folks!  Really appreciative of this site already...just purchased a beautiful Dodd battery powered preamp from LadyDog!  This will join Dodd 120 Mk.III monoblocks and a Dodd 800 power conditioner to complete a Dodd system...well unless I can one day find a Dodd phono preamp.

Thank you Audio Circle!!!

Thanks Wind Chaser!  I've got Herbies dampers on the preamp's 6SN7s...haven't got them on the amps' tubes...not sure I'll end up doing that, but never say never .

Really like the ground loop gizmo; appeals to me in every way!

Thanks!
