Hi all (and Chris!),

Hoping for some help

I am having challenges connecting my BDP-2 to Roon.

I have a BDP-1 as well - and it connects to Roon flawlessly.

I bought a used BDP2 recently, and after clearing the previous users IP information, and updating the firmware - still no connectivity to Roon.

The MPD software works great. External HD and internet radio stations work perfectly.
somehow....I suspect there must be a IP address issue or some other simple fix related to the Router...?

I rebooted the BDP2 many times, and rebooted my Roon Core server.  still no go.
I will try unplugging / replugging in the router itself and see if that helps....

This is probably not helpful, but maybe the bdp-2 needs to be enabled first? ROon > settings > audio

If the core is on a computer you can access maybe try pinging the bdp-2 to see if it can communicate at all - there's that handy http://mybryston.com/ to get the IP of bryston devices on the network, though, i assume you already have the IP since you are using it to play radio stations through the web interface. Is there anything different about the way the bdp-2 and bdp-1 are connecting to the network? Maybe one is wireless and maybe you are segregating traffic between the two networks?

Try a dedicated IP address. Easiest way is to have your router assign the same IP address every time.
