DSP crossovers and Phono Stages, share your thoughts....
It's a big compromise to the phono signal?
Yes, classic question!

A few years ago, after moving into a new house ... I had to move away from active speakers which had a 3-way
analogue XO to a 4-way miniDSP setup (as I added a pair of subs and had to delay my main speakers to time-align with my subs).
Before the change, I had no digital:
* phono stage fed the preamp (together with other inputs)
* preamp fed the 3-way,
analogue active XO
* active XO fed 6x Class AB monoblocs.
After the change it was:
* phono stage fed the preamp (together with other inputs)
* preamp fed the analogue inputs of the miniDSP
* analogue outputs of the miniDSP fed 8x monoblocs.
I then changed the way I was using my miniDSP unit - by feeding my phono stage into an A2D converter and thence into the
digital input of the miniDSP. IOW, I was digital as much as it was possible.
There were certainly no negatives in this change - only positives!
