Hi Ken,

You mention 10K here but the site says 100K.  Is it an option which load or is it just 10K or 100K?

Are these make-before-break switches (ie. do they not make a popping noise when rotated)?  Will 10k and 100k be the only 2 levels made or will there also be others?

I have to get back to you on the make-before-break question.

As for the levels, yes, 10K and 100K are the only ones we are making.

Thanks
Ken

Ken,

Do you plan to offer other values in the future such as 20K?

10K is a bit too low for tube equipment so 20K is the perfect choice for me.

and will there be a 48 step version?

Thanks,
TKP

Hi TKP.

Right now, we are only producing the 10K and the 100K 4 deck version.  We are almost ready to supply the 8 deck version, but only at the above two values as well.

And nope, no plans to do a 48 step version.

Thanks
Ken

I am really interested since I am currently in the market for a new volume control for my tubed preamp. What are the dimensions, if it won't fit I can't use it. Thanks. And is 100k the standard for tube preamps? :D

How would you rate your attenuators in comparison to the Dact unit?

LordCloud,

Yes, most of the tube preamp can use 100K.

Can't say comparing to DACT products, since I have not heard them in a A/B test.  But I can say we use DALE resistors, it is make-before-break design, OCC wires, and use silver solder all around.

Thanks
Ken

Assuming the switch being use in the 4 deck volume control is a good kind, this volume control should outperform the DACT CT1/CT2 because the DACT is a series stepped atttenuator versus ladder type in this case.

After I get the new HDTV purchase out of the way, I'll be purchasing one of your 100k jobbies.
