Tape Output for 302a..
« on: 22 Dec 2004, 02:00 am »
Bill,

You list a tape output option for your Signature and Reference Jolida's.

Question- can a tape output be added to these amps (and still keep the 4 inputs) with the option of an on/off toggle switch for the tape output jacks?

If so, what would the cost be?

Also, I notice that some of the amps have transformer covers and others don't. Which is standard?

Thanks,

WEEZ

Absolutely. additional RCA jacks could be installed to accomidate the tape output. As far as a toggle switch, this is not needed unless you are going with a true tape loop with monitoring.

A standard tape output with additional RCA jacks would be $50 installed.
A true tape loop with monitoring would be $100 installed which would include two additional sets of RCA jacks and the toggle switch or front mounted selector for the tape loop.

All "B" series amplifiers have the aluminum face plate and transformer covers. If you see a "B" series without the tranny cover, someone simply removed it. The original "A" series amps (same as "B" series but older style chassis) did not have a face plate or tranny covers. These are what we use for our exclusive Signature and Reference series products as I have the ramaining inventory through a special contract with Jolida.

Thanks for the reply, Bill.

I would think that the tape out jack would need an "off" switch, so one wouldn't have to disconnect the the wire to the tape deck when playing tapes. Maybe I'm missing something--

Merry Christmas,

The tape out is connected at all times, even when playing the deck as it is connected to the input. It would not affect anything.
I have a few amps here that have standard tape outputs that always have the inputputs hooked up.
The tape loop is different as you are able to monitor what is actually being recorded at the time on the deck or CD recorder.
