Here are the first movies to come to mind for this list:

The Next Best Thing - Madonna has baby with gay man.  Starts movie out with british accent, evolves into a southern thing, then back to the british thing.  My wife and I frequently refer to this movie as "the train wreck movie" (even though there are no trains in it) as the benchmark of bad movies.

The Bride - Saw this movie because I heard Jennifer Beals did a nude scene in it (I was young!).  Turned out to be a body double (seems like a theme with her).  Sting should stick to music (and even then, go back to Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland).

Bolero - Bo Derek's first major release after "10", directed by her husband.  Interesting concept, directing one's wife in a softcore porn comedy with George Kennedy.

Howard The Duck - The first hint that George Lucas had totally lost touch with reality.

Roadhouse - Patrick Swayze as the baddest bouncer in Texas.  'nuff said.

Random Hearts - Hard to put this one on the list because I'm a Harrison Ford fan, but this one was just bad and pointless.

Tie - Rocky V and Star Wars Episode 5.  Two of the worst movies showcasing bad "mentor/mentee" relationships.  Episode 5 might have escaped the list with Yoda's performance, but Natalie Portman should not be upstaged by a muppet.

There are a *lot* of others...I'll get to them soon enough...

The Swimmer - a family fav, some lame terrible, seemingly plotless 70's wonder...

I agree with many of the choices made here.  Disagree as well (I like  SW chapters I and II, stilted dialoge aside).

The campy sci-fi hooey films of the fifties, the go-go/biker bad girl loops of the sixties, etc. have reached a sort of cultural icon status....MST3K has taken them as far as they can go. The bad slasher/gore stuff of the last 30 years is par for the course (is there actually a good film here?). What's left for unique badness?  I am not really sure but here are a few of the most unenjoyable movies I have seen for what it's worth..

Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (the worst musical ever concieved, much less actually made)

Born American (American college kids escaping from a Soviet prison - that alone would have been enough to end the pitch if I had been at that power lunch)

American Beauty (every bad PC Hollywood sexual stereotype  fully fleshed out and presented with 8th grade creative writing class level symbolism)

Deathwish (Bronson created the pointless revenge genre with this one. If you think about it, it is quite a feat of acting to instill in the viewer a complete lack of sympathy for a man whose wife and daugher are raped and murdered.)

Hook (Rivals Sgt. Peppers in the "why the hell was this story ever created" category.)

Jurassic Park (We've got the superstar author and we've got Microsoft Softimage, we simply have to make a movie....no let's make 3!)

I know I can dig up more if I try, but these I remember with an immediate  alka sletzer recall - I can't beleive I watched the whole thing.

Thanks,
Rob

I loved American Beauty- I thought it was excellent, in great measure due to another magnicent performance from Kevin Spacey.  Ditto for Jurasic Park, but only the first one.  I guess I just can't resist the dino stuff, and the cast was superb.  Who doesn't love seeing a lawyer eaten by a T-Rex (no offense to any lawyers browsing this thread, of course! :P ).
