What is the efficiency of your speakers? There are several classic DHT tubes, 45, 2A3 and variations, and 300B.  Much depends on what speakers you want to drive!

Speaker efficiency is 87db, BUT this amplifier would be used in an extremely nearfield setup in my office and in low volumes only.  So power could be anything, really.  Open to different tubes.

Too bad, do you would change the speaker?
Something as Klipsch 2way bookshelf or any onther w/sensitibity about 98dB.

Thanks Fullrange.  For my purposes my Mark Audio Alpair 7.3 are the best I could want in nearfield.  I'm not sure multi-way speakers would integrate as gracefully given that the speakers are only about 2ft away from me.

StevenZ,

I have 2 seldom used flea amps if you would be interested:
Don Allen 2A3 SET w/Volume Control
Don Allen KT88 SET -  8W/channel This 220v and I use a 110v/220v step-up transformer.  No volume control on this one.

They both sound wonderful, as they should, with the right equipment.  Cheers,

Gil

Wow great, you cant go wrong with Radu.
He is fast to project new circuits, reply email on the same day, extremely friendly and courteous, charge little money for his work and know alot about tubes and SS amplification.
I cant praise enough Radu Tarta he is the best.
