Someone is selling a

For $100 , although I may see if he wants to trade for something .
This sub went for $499 and has a remote , way more watts than my Polk.

I am running a Polk 10 inch from CL that I got for $60

PSW10

I am wondering if going to the Velo would be a big and powerful increase? For movies only. Room is 14x16
Thoughts?
Thanks!!!

Keep the Polk and save up for something better. W/ a 6.5 active that velodyne even w/ the 8 inch passive and marginally more power is not going to be an improvement for home theater.

You need to find yourself a used SVS if you can pry one away from someone. Something with a 12 inch or better driver and decent power (over 100wpc continous - although many class d amp subs have a lot more). There's just no replacement for displacement when it comes to home theater subs.

+1

And I'd add that the standard advice is to go with a ported sub for HT and sealed for music/HT.  Used subs can be iffy as they frequently get abused, so check out the seller too.  Amazon has a deal going on currently for a good new 12 inch/400 watt sealed SVS sub:

Thanks gentleman!! Looks like I'll keep what I have.

Plus I have an 8inch Pioneer that I can run along side the 10 inch to get some more oomph.
