A hint for the large part. Make a hole for centering the piece and you can move it to access it with a machine which is limited.

Berni... I guessed you are from SLO  :D Been there a hundred times and have many friends.

I am Dane.

Talk about the 'tricks' by mail.

Alternatively it's possible to laser cut the alu, hand polish and powder coat paint.

I've chosen RAL 9005 mated.

Thanks.

Actually laser cutting was the cheaper version I also suggested, but then the edges would not be as nice as mine :) . Also some important grooves  for the original screws that hold the frame would be missing. The grooves must be made to accomodate the original wood screws.

The CAD project is very pro. and the stands will look awesome. Like yours. I made slight changes.. but very little actually.
Today I finally found a local company who does up to 20 mm CNS in lengths up to 2,5 meters. They also powder coat.

Hello Berni,
I would like to say very thank you for your amazing Magnepan stands. Now I can enjoy my 20.1 really. The sound is much better now. The bloated Bass is lost. The mapping of the musical is now much more accurate, comparable to a photo that was diffuse, is now much clearer. The bass is faster and is emotionally deeper. The 20.1 now show their true qualities.

Sorry for my bad englisch.

Michael

Thank you Michael. I am really happy to see you like it so much. That  tells me I did something right.
I tried to translate what you wrote to me regarding the change after you installed the stands.

"Regarding the sound of Magnepan 20.1 with your great stands, I can report the following:
The bass has been greatly improved. The swelling in the bass range is totally gone. One has the impression that the bass is now reproduced deeper, faster and more precise. The thickening and superimposing which was hearable from bass into the middle area has now disappeared. The resonances which were strongly felt on the wooden frame(you could feel them by touching the frame), as I feel it are now gone by at least 80%. The musical performance is now much more authentic, so you can compare it perhaps with a photo.
Previously, it was blurry, shaky, now everything is exposed sharper.

I am convinced that the 20.1 with your stands, the music dissolves better than the new 20.7.

Perhaps this says the most about the quality of the stand.
I had previously consider to sell my Magnepan 20.1 , because I was not totaly satisfied with the sound.
Now with your stands this idea is totally gone, now it is a real pleasure  to listen to music.
I'm excited.
Michael. "

Thank you Berni, I can not so well expressed in the English language, I thank you for the translation, it is complementary to my feelings.
