New affordable PSU
« on: 25 Sep 2014, 07:41 pm »
Someone has finally made an affordable power supply that I'd like to try.  Its much less than the Walker or the VPI model at < $300

The unit will only work with AC motors using no more than 5 or fewer Watts,  however.

It's very frustrating trying to get specs on my older WT square motor table being that it's no longer in production and WT isn't much help either.
Does anyone know or is there a way to determine if those square motors are <5W

I'm measuring 6W on my square motor using a watt meter. House voltage was measured at 122V and the motor was consuming 0.05A.

Hope it helps!

Thanks Rolly,
Finally able to measure mine and it was closer to 7 watts.  Can't use that PSU

I'd definitely be interested if it will work with my motor.
