This is a beautiful pair of fonken-style single driver monitor speakers, perfect for low powered SET amps or chip amps. This pair of speakers is mahogany and uses the HIEND 4 NEO full range driver with neodymium magnets, offering exceptional speed and control. The results are a highly coherent, detailed sound, exceptional tonal quality and surprisingly good bass down to about 55 Hz.
You can get more info on cabinet design from Planet 10 Audio, a Canadian company specializing in horn designs. The original “Fonken” cabinets were made for the Fostex FE127e. I believe this pair originally had the FE127e drivers and a previous owner replaced them with the present drivers. A discussion of the Fonken name can be found at

If you need to rock the bass, throw in a small subwoofer. Each speaker is 9 ½” W x 11”D x 14 ½” H and weights 18 lbs. Total package weight will be about 46 lbs.
Although these cabinets may have been designed for a Fostex driver, I believe they sound excellent with the current drivers and might also work with other full range drivers, from Fostex, Mark Audio or whoever. I would encourage the new owner to experiment if they are of a mind to do so.
