Modded Denon 103's.
« on: 11 Aug 2014, 05:52 pm »
I was about to send a 103 of to Zu for an Aluminum body. Then I started to wonder if the additional weight would be a compatibility issue with the Amadeus arm? Any experience here with the wood or alum. body 103's? Or heavier carts in this weight range( 14.5g) for that matter. Thx.........Mick

Thought about doing same thing.  Let us know how you make out if you pull the trigger.

At this point, my finger is off the trigger. It looks like more research is in order. Didn't realize it bumped up the weight by 6 grams. ( Zu alum. body)

Just got a hold of Mike Pranka. The use of heavy carts is fine. Just use both counterweights to compensate for the cart's additional weight. May have to tweak the damping a bit as well by adjusting the silicon vat.
