When I was deciding on an amp to power my LGKs for desk-top use, I came across this thread that motivated me to build an amp based on TPA3110 chip
http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=122011.0. I had no prior experience with amp construction, and the availability and low cost of this board, combined with "plug and play" capability (no soldering required), swayed my decision.
The amp puts out 3W x 2 @ 8 ohms, which is more than enough to drive the LGKs. For normal listening I have the volume setting at 10-12%, with 25% being the loudest I care to play music.
