BR2 Remote Control - Best Option?
« on: 31 Jan 2014, 05:19 pm »
I have the following Bryston equipment: BDA2, BDP2, BP17, 4BBST2.

Is the BR2 remote control the best solution for remote volume control or are there other options that I should consider? Was hoping that an app existed to do so.

I have a Logitech Harmony 900 remote, but was unable to successfully program it to control my PB17. Not sure if done correctly whether the Harmony can control the BP17?

Thanks!

Does it have a learning option? The IR codes exist, but may not be included in the Harmony software. Can you import IR codes in Harmony?

I'll have to log back into Logitech's webpage on which I can configure this remote. To date, I have only worked with their pre-existing options and do not recall seeing an option by which I could import IR codes. I'll check this evening.

They may not have a bp17 listing and I believe they have if code for some products and I believe the bp-17 uses the same it codes for volume as the bp-16, b135 and b100.

Cheers

Thanks for the feedback.

I will try using the codes for the other devices that you mentioned, Chris.

If that fails, I will order the BR2.

Success :)

I was able to program my Harmony One remote to control the volume on my BP-17 by entering BP-16 as the device to be controlled.
