Hum From BP6
« on: 18 Jun 2013, 11:06 pm »
I have noticed a hum that I suspect is from my BP6.  With all sources off and my 3BSST on, there is a hum.  It is not attenuator influenced. If I turn off the BP6, leave the power amp on, the hum disappears.

Any ideas or suggestions to eliminate this noise?

Hi Kevin

Try floating the ground on the preamp power plug.

Thanks James. Can you explain what it means to float the ground on the power plug. Thanks.

I think he means to try a grounding "cheater plug" adapter to see if the hum disappears with the ground disconnected as a troubleshooting tool.
